As a global logistics service provider, Katoen Natie combines engineering, technology, and port operations to offer worldwide, tailor-made solutions to the chemical and automotive industries, and to the consumer goods, electronics, and retail sector. Katoen Natie has 181 logistic platforms and is active in 40 countries all over Europe, North America, South America, and the Far East with a staff of more than 18,000 people.
Our Business Units Petrochemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Warehousing & Commodities, and Food & Feed offer total solutions based on integrated logistics and engineering. To support these fast-growing businesses, Katoen Natie is looking for a Competence Lead Testing.

The System Engineer at Katoen Natie is responsible for the system environments, from design through implementation and support. Additionally, the System Engineer performs investigation, diagnostics testing, repair, and troubleshooting.

As a new System Engineer working in a regional team at Katoen Natie, you should be familiar with at least one, but preferably more, of the following technologies:

  1. Hyper converged server systems (Nutanix)
  2. Multiple hypervisors (Vmware ESXi, Nutanix AHV)
  3. Microsoft Windows Server Operating System: roles and features
  4. Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  5. Microsoft SQL Server
  6. Microsoft Azure public cloud
  7. Microsoft Exchange on premise & online
  8. Microsoft Active Directory
  9. Citrix XenApp & Citrix Netscaler
  10. Rubrik backup
  11. Enterprise DDI
  12. Enterprise PKI
  13. Enterprise Application Delivery Controller
  14. Scripting

Your profile

You will work within the infrastructure development team and focus on long-term projects. You should be able to write technical documentation such as operational procedures, as-built documentation, and logical and physical designs. You are flexible and do not mind the rare occasional firefighting as a third-line support engineer. You will coordinate your activities with your peers in other regions (EMEA, AMER, and APAC) and collaborate to ensure standardized deployments across all regions as much as possible, given the local constraints. You will stay in close contact with your peers through regular conference calls, meetings, and travel. For that reason, and because of the international activities of Katoen Natie, you should be willing to travel abroad for about 6 weeks per year.

In terms of personality, we are looking for a team player with strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills. You should be able to communicate fluently in English, in a polite and friendly manner, both in writing and in speech.
