Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Program Manager, The Project Manager plays a key role in the execution of global IT/Technology projects within budget and on schedule.

The Project Manager will collaborate with Business Analysts, Business teams, IT technical teams, and service providers to run Projects and address issues, risks, and manage all tasks to successfully deliver Projects as planned.

Operating within a customer-first approach, the Project Manager is part of a global team of Project Managers responsible for delivering Projects within the Convatec's CX Transformation program.

The Project Manager will cooperate with members of the Global Portfolio & Program Management Team, Project Management Office (PMO), Chaired Steering Groups, Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts, IT technical teams, vendors, and business teams to carry out Projects.

The Project Manager will collaborate with the business sponsors to align objectives, agree on value, set budget controls, timescales, and secure necessary resources for delivery, as well as work closely with the financial controller to manage all financial aspects of the Projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage Projects in a global setting.
  • Effectively manage budgets and report actuals, planned, and forecasted costs to sponsors and budget line holders on a monthly basis.
  • Develop and track Project planning and the business value to be delivered.
  • Monitor and report progress, using industry best practices and standards throughout project execution.
  • Establish and continuously review ways of working between workstreams to enhance team motivation and ensure Project objectives are met.
  • Manage the Project status reporting structure and cadence.
  • Monitor and evaluate Projects' ongoing impact and effectiveness compared to the expected value.
  • Work with Convatec's Project Management Office (PMO) to track and report Project progress throughout the StageGate Process.
  • Manage and Harmonize Communication plans for wider stakeholder groups.
  • Conduct mid-year reviews of Projects to identify improved practices and the relevance of Programmes and Projects' objectives.
  • Act as an escalation point for Project Teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date information for Projects in the Project Management Tools.
  • Maintain project documentation and report to senior leadership.
  • Adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Financial management of projects in collaboration with the PMO/IT Financial Controller.
  • Coordinate and Lead project meetings.

  • Experience in the Medical Devices/Pharmaceutical Industry.

Required Experience / Technical Background
  • 3 to 5 years of IT experience, with a proven track record in planning and executing IT Projects and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience leading end-to-end, larger IT/Technology projects globally.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Project Management Qualifications (PMP, Scrum, Agile etc.)
  • Experience working in a complex Global organization in a project management role.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Knowledge of hosting, network, and end-user compute technologies beneficial.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and motivating Program/Project management and staff.
  • Leadership presence with a focus on increasing service and Project team performance.
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency to deliver Projects on time and on budget.
  • Track record of establishing strong relationships and partnerships with business/IT stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining service quality.
  • Experience collaborating closely with all IT teams to foster a customer-centric culture.
  • Ability to facilitate alignment across teams and drive the implementation of service strategies.
  • Good English language skills required.
