Your Mission


Nuvei is currently seeking a lawyer based in Latin America to fill a new role as Senior Legal Counsel - Latin America.

We will consider applicants to work remotely or in our offices in Colombia, Mexico or Brazil.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

In collaboration with the General Counsel and the corporate legal team, the Senior Legal Counsel - Latin America will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters pertaining to Nuvei's business in Latin America, including drafting, negotiating and managing various commercial agreements, assisting with corporate and regulatory matters for Nuvei and its subsidiaries, and providing legal advice to the Commercial and Operations teams as Nuvei continues to develop local payment solutions for merchants from Latin America and from around the world.

He or she will monitor and manage litigation across the region and will liaise with external counsel.

He or she will be required to interact daily with the Company's key stakeholders across the business, such as Operations, Compliance, Commercial/Sales, Marketing, Product, Global Expansion, Risk and Underwriting and Finance, to meet their legal needs.


Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • University / College degree or combination of education and equivalent and related work experience would be preferred
  • Highly collaborative, good verbal and written communication skills, and capable of working as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate complex concepts to diverse global audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Fintech, Online payments industry, and technical background are a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to be tactful, maintain confidence, and foster an ethical working environment
  • Experience working with international clients.
  • Proven ability to work with grace under pressure in a dynamic team environment

Working Language

  • English (written and spoken) is the language used most of the time, as work colleagues, clients, and strategic suppliers are geographically dispersed.
