ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Platform Reliability Operations Team at ViX is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our team

A Lead will have technical ownership of the Platform Reliability Operations team.

ABOUT YOU:

YOUR DAY-DAY:

You will be producing highlevel architectural designs and implementing those designs. You will deliver an Observability platform for our internal team and focus on the reliability of our systems endtoend. You will be working remotely with a multidisciplinary team across multiple time zones. You will design and perform system management, configuration management, deep troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and enhancement for cloud / hosted large scale consumer video service. Build out and maintain new telemetry tooling, for monitoring and observability, across all services. Respond to emerging incidents, solve critical issues, and follow through with a plan for resolution or future mitigation.
You will support and mentor the other engineers working on the systems you are responsible for. YOU HAVE:
  • 5+ years of software development experience as a technical individual contributor
4+ years of handson API and system development 5+ years of cloudbased development Degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent work experience Experience designing, implementing and running services in demanding high traffic environments Experience building serviceoriented APIs (GraphQL and REST API) and cloud services Fully understand the concepts of "infrastructure as code" Experience writing and deploying microservices Extremely technical handson server software experience BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE IN: Javascript Typescript GCP MongoDB Redis HLS and DASH, video transcoding, distribution, and playbackUnivision is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
