Job functions:


We are looking for a Senior Accountant in Colombia to be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the company's financial status, preparing and filing tax declarations, managing accounting transactions for our Colombian entity, and calculating payroll for the local team.

You'll make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits, and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee local accounts, ledgers, and accounting reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate Colombian standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax declarations.
  • Prepare and file exogenous information (medios magnéticos), vendor certifications, and compliance forms.
  • Calculate monthly payroll.
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of financial status.
  • Provide management with information vital to the decisionmaking process.
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of accounting processes and support accounting systems configuration as needed.
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
  • Assist in the further development of internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, and administration.

Qualifications and requirements:

Requirements and technical skills

  • Minimum of a BA; Colombian CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major multinational company or a division of a global corporation; Big 4 experience preferred
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments
  • Willing to learn and utilize the Workday ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for company bookkeeping
  • Professional working capacity in QuickBooks online
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Selfdriven individual who works well in a team environment
  • Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and problemsolving skills
  • Experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in English, both in written and verbal communication (C1)
