About the position of Supply Chain Manager: In this role, you'll take on the challenge of leading and nurturing our Supply Chain team in Colombia. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring we have the right resources, technology, and processes in place to solidify our position as a market leader in our industry. Your tasks will involve crafting strategies, implementing projects, and driving initiatives to boost efficiencies, foster growth, and elevate service standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving sustainable value creation and operational excellence across Smith+Nephew's supply chain network in the country.

What will your responsibilities include?

  • Support shipping processes to not just meet but surpass sales targets by 20%.
  • Keep warehouse and distribution costs in check, staying within the allocated budget (20%).
  • Exceed LIFR (line in full rate) objectives consistently.
  • Ensure accuracy in inventory and loaner systems.
  • Optimize inventory levels for maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with regional commercial and operations leaders in orthopedics, trauma and extremities, sports medicine, and wound management to translate strategic goals into actionable projects and ventures.
  • Spearhead transformative operational improvements within the country, sharing best practices with the wider LAC region. Lead projects that drive operational change, maintain key relationships, and ensure alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with global and regional sales leaders, customers, marketing heads, and operations to align with the transformation strategy.
  • Utilize reporting tools effectively, providing insights and visibility into KPIs for informed decision-making.
  • Develop solutions for data collection and competitive intelligence to enhance stock analysis support.
  • Oversee a local warehouse, multiple loaner set management centers, technical services, and 3PLs in the country.
  • Address issues, risks, and opportunities, aiding team members in overcoming obstacles and escalating complex operational matters when needed.
  • Drive a cultural shift towards project management excellence for enhanced project success and sustainability.
  • Ensure the integration of technological solutions to optimize the sales force's efficiency and maintain operational service levels.
  • Support the documentation of standards, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with local business processes.
  • Uphold compliance with global and local company regulations, always meeting quality and EHS standards.

What qualities are we looking for in a successful candidate?

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year program) in Logistics, Administration, Business, or Engineering from a reputable university.
  • Master's degree in operations, logistics, or an MBA is a plus.
  • Desirable certifications: APICS CSCP and LSS Green Belt.

Experience Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of experience in managerial positions within Supply Chain, Distribution, or Logistics.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
  • Proven track record in building and managing high-performance teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with C-level and VP stakeholders effectively. This role often represents the company at the highest levels.
  • Global mindset and ability to operate within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Skilled in working with and influencing teams in a matrix structure without direct authority.
  • Preference for experience in the medical device industry.
  • Proficient in data analysis and management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing cross-functional programs and projects.
