Role Description:
The Staff Accountant will perform a diverse set of responsibilities including the preparation of financial reports, general bookkeeping, account reconciliations, AP and AR management including collections, maintaining a general ledger and other duties as they are assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices for payment, prepare adjusting journal entries, and review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences
- Prepare detailed reports including information on assets, net worth, liabilities, income, or expenditures
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
- Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and canceled checks to confirm records are accurate
- Report to management about asset utilization and financial review results, recommending changes in operations and financial activities.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience working in a fast-paced and high growth environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of an accounting month end close process
- Preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including expertise in easily creating logic formulas and pivot tables
- Skilled at managing processes and multiple projects at a time through coordination and prioritization practices.
