Summary
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll lead the charge in modernizing our technology stack and fostering a data-driven culture. Your role will involve developing and optimizing backend systems through the use of MySQL and Python. You will collaborate closely with our web development teams to ensure seamless integration, and implement data engineering concepts to drive the decision-making processes. Because this is a high visibility role at BriteCore, you'll have the opportunity to shape the company's future direction.

This position is ideal for someone with strong SQL and Python skills, web development experience, and a passion for transitioning to modern technology. If you're ready to make an impact and thrive in a dynamic environment, we'd like to chat with you.

This is a fully remote based role, however candidates must be located in Argentina, Brazil or Colombia. Note: this is a long-term Independent Contractor position.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and optimize existing ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
  • Develop new reports using SQL queries and Python scripts to extract and present meaningful insights from various data sources
  • Design and implement new products, including interactive Dashboards and Reports using AWS QuickSight to facilitate data visualization and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions around complex business needs
  • Write clear and concise documentation for code and processes
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of enterprise-level experience coding in Python and building Python-based web applications
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with MySQL or other SQL database
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with web development, with an expertise in Python backend development
  • 3+ years of experience with building and consuming APIs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus points
  • Experience with AWS services like QuickSight, S3, Aurora, StepFunctions, Lambdas, and Batch
  • Experience with Docker to containerize applications for seamless deployment
  • Experience working at a scaling startup
