About the position:
The Innovation and Business Development unit is seeking a Senior Analyst responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights. This role involves analyzing large volumes of data to identify trends and opportunities, developing predictive models to support strategic decision-making, and effectively communicating key findings to stakeholders. The Senior Analyst will be driving data-driven strategies and optimizing business processes. To excel in this position, familiarity with Agile methodologies and proficiency in tools such as Jira and Notion are essential for effective collaboration within a dynamic team environment. The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia, and will offer hybrid working conditions.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with product and business teams to identify opportunities where AI solutions can provide tangible value, streamline processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and promote innovation.
2. Support the design, training, and optimization of traditional machine learning models (regression, classification, time series, clustering) to assist in forecasting trends, predicting behaviors, and guiding strategic decision-making.
3. Contribute to the development and refinement of generative models (GANs, VAEs, Transformers, Diffusion Models) to produce synthetic content that aids in product prototyping, feature development, and enhancing user experiences.
4. Assist in implementing and customizing LLMs (GPT, T5, LLaMA, etc.) to improve user interactions, generate relevant content, and add value to applications.
5. Utilize the Hugging Face ecosystem to efficiently implement, fine-tune, and deploy advanced NLP and generative models, accelerating the development process.
6. Integrate and tailor models from external AI platforms, such as OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock, to meet specific use cases and ensure seamless alignment with the product ecosystem.
7. Work closely with the engineering team to support the integration of models into the existing tech stack, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability in production environments.
8. Define and monitor quality metrics (accuracy, recall, FID score, perplexity, etc.), conducting experiments to enhance the relevance, performance, and overall quality of predictive and generative models.
9. Develop dashboards and visualizations to provide stakeholders with clear insights, translating complex findings into actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
10. Actively engage in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), participating in sprint reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, while maintaining thorough documentation and tracking progress using tools like Jira and Notion.
11. Stay informed about the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, MLOps, and software development, adopting new approaches and technologies to align with evolving business requirements.

Qualifications and requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields; enrollment in postgraduate studies is a plus.
2. Solid understanding of statistics, mathematics, and programming in Python or R, with experience in data science tools like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
3. Proficiency in managing SQL and NoSQL databases and using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
4. Experience with machine learning and deep learning techniques, and tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
5. Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), and tools like Jira and Notion for task and project management.
6. Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and Notion for documentation and collaboration.
7. Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
8. Intermediate level of English proficiency (written and spoken).
9. Additional experience in big data environments, NLP, or computer vision is a plus.
